How is a knockout tournament structured ?

Round 1 consists of a 2.5Km qualifier. The purpose of which is to quantity the volume of entrants and the second purpose is to define the seeding for the knockout stages.

Round 2 consists of a single heat where all participants run. The nearest binary number below the quantity of entrants will go through to the knockout starting round 3. e.g. 47 participants ran round 2 therefore the top 32 racers will qualify for round 3, or 79 participants ran round 2 therefore the top 64 racers will qualify for round 3. (Note Top means the top points scorers after handicap)

Round 3 onwards. This is a seeded straight forward knockout. Top seed races (virtually) against bottom seed. The highest scorers after handicap progresses to the next round and so forth, until the final.
